Good morning this Christmas Eve Morning! I am so looking forward to the candlelight service this evening. I know the forecast is not all that favorable with the potential for rain, but I hope and pray that does not discourage everyone from attending.
This celebration, in preparation for the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is the beginning of a new journey for mankind. Until now we were lost in a world overcome by greed, fear, and hate. Now, with the birth of Jesus, we were shown how to live in a world driven by Hope, Peace, Joy, and compassion fueled by the Love of God and love for our fellow man.
This morning, as we prepare our hearts, through our time of devotional study, let our prayers focus on the grace and love we are gifted by the birth of our Savior. Let our servant hearts prepare to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we join together as one body of true believers in Christ. As we were taught to pray as Jesus taught His disciples:
The Lords Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.
